Tips for Staying Secure Online

3/6/2025

Staying secure online is more important than ever.

Here’s how you can safeguard your personal information and help keep your accounts safe:

  • Use strong, unique passwords for each account. Consider using a phrase or mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. You might even consider a password manager to keep track of them all.
  • Think before you click. Before clicking on links or downloading attachments, verify the source. If something looks suspicious or too good to be true, it probably is!
  • Stay updated. Update software and enable automatic updates whenever available to ensure your devices are protected with the latest security features.
  • Be skeptical of requests for personal information. Whether it’s via email, text, phone call, or social media, be cautious about sharing personal information. Legitimate organizations typically won’t ask for sensitive details in an unsolicited message. If you’re unsure, contact the organization directly.

Remember, your online security starts with you! Take these steps to stay safe and protect your personal information.
