Meals on Wheels of West MI Names M1 Hunger Hero
Members First Credit Union has been honored as the Hunger Hero Volunteer Group of the Year by Meals on Wheels of West Michigan. This distinction highlights the meaningful difference Members First’s Grand Rapids teams are making for neighbors facing food insecurity.
“I love volunteering with Meals on Wheels," said Jasmin McGarrah, an active volunteer. "The work that they do helps senior citizens stay in their homes, and it's fulfilling knowing that I get to play a role in that."
Members First team members support the community through hands-on volunteering, sponsorships, and a trusted partnership with Meals on Wheels built on care and reliability. From packing and preparing meals for local delivery to helping sustain critical programs, the Grand Rapids teams actively advance the organization’s mission.
“What makes this partnership so meaningful is how our teams continue to show up—not just once, but again and again,” said Chelsea McKenzie, Community Impact Leader at Members First. “It reflects who we are as an organization and our commitment to creating thriving communities.”
As Members First celebrates 90 years of serving Michigan communities, this recognition reinforces the credit union’s ongoing commitment to investing locally and strengthening the places its members call home.
