Celebrating National Reading Month at M1

2/25/2026

At M1, supporting education and lifelong learning has always been part of who we are. That’s why we’re excited to celebrate National Reading Month with several initiatives focused on literacy, learning, and community connection throughout March.

One of our main efforts this month is our book donation drive, happening at all M1 branches from March 1st through March 31st. The goal is simple: help fill the Little Free Libraries at each branch and make books more accessible in the neighborhoods we serve. Books donated at your local branch will stay there, directly supporting readers in your community.

This work has a meaningful impact. Last year alone, M1’s Little Free Libraries distributed more than 1,300 books to our communities, including 330 books focused on financial literacy. Thanks to the generosity of our members, those books found new homes with readers of all ages—and we’re excited to build on that impact again this year.

In addition to the book drive, M1 is proud to support and host several reading-focused events during National Reading Month, including:

Together, these initiatives reflect M1’s long-standing commitment to education and literacy—values rooted in our history as a teachers credit union.

National Reading Month is about more than books. It’s about connection, access, and showing up for the communities we serve. Thank you for being part of this effort and for helping us continue to share the joy of reading throughout March.
