Members First Raises $12,000 for 2024 Scholarship Program!
Members First Credit Union raised $12,000 at the 25th Annual Swinging for Scholarships Golf Outing on July 25, 2023 at Pohl Cat Golf Course in Mt Pleasant, Michigan. Proceeds from the golf outing will fund scholarships for students attending college or trade school in 2024.
The golf outing attracted 36 teams and 142 golfers who came together to make a difference in the lives of deserving young individuals in the community. “The atmosphere at this year's golf outing was outstanding! Our team is deeply grateful for the incredible generosity shown by our members, vendor partners, and local businesses," remarked Marcie Long, Chief Strategy Officer at Members First Credit Union. "Over the span of 24 years, this event has evolved from a simple golf outing that awarded two $500 scholarships, and now stands as an annual fundraiser raising over $10,000 for the program. It's truly an example of the impact we have when we join together.”
Founded as credit union for teachers and school employees in 1936, Members First Credit Union began using their annual membership golf outing as a fundraiser, and awarded two $500 scholarships using the annual membership golf outing to raise funds. It has seen tremendous growth over the years, and the credit union now awards four $2,500 scholarships to encourage a better tomorrow for students.
Members First is so proud of our team, community members and vendors for stepping up and rallying together to raise these funds for such a worthy cause.
